Sweet Summertime

I apologize for not updating sooner...I've got to get better!

Ryan has been changing so fast and we are amazed every day with how fast he learns something new. He is now saying many words, some clearer than others. He says the typical mama, dada, cat, dog, ball, duck, banana, and more. He is also working on other words now - Grandpa, Grammy, Nana, Papa, lamb, book, and block.

Ryan has 4 molars coming in (one in each corner of his mouth) and is handling it much better than we could ever imagine. You would never know the child is teething unless he bites something just the right way to make it hurt. He has been in such a great mood even though he's probably in a ton of pain. We have been extremely lucky with his teething and I probably just jinxed us. ;-)

I have to share my new favorite thing that Ryan does. As soon as I sit down on the floor he runs over to me, turns around, and plops down on my lap. I absolutely love it even though it's such a small thing. He just melts my heart. He does this frequently when he wants me to read to him too. He will find a book, come to me, and sit on my lap. It's just the sweetest thing!

He also likes to show off what he has learned about his body parts. Well, he likes to show me and Jamie...he won't perform for others. Haha! He shows his ears, belly button, nose, and feet. We just started teaching him hair and mouth so hopefully he'll have those perfected in the next few days.

Summer is here and I am so happy to be able to spend more time with Ryan! He loves to play, go to the park, run around outside, and I think he's really going to enjoy the pool this year. We went to a friend's house last weekend and he giggled and splashed around in the pool after he got past the first five minutes of not being so sure. They had a float that he absolutely loved so we quickly bought one to help encourage his love for the pool.

I am getting very excited about Ryan's first summer vacation for the year. Jamie and I are going to start the vacation early and go to Cedar Point (my absolute favorite amusement park), Niagara Falls, and NYC and then we'll wrap it up in Binghamton to spend time with family and celebrate my cousin's graduation! Ryan's grandparents will take turns keeping him while Jamie and I are traveling and then my parents will drive Ryan to Binghamton on July 4th to meet up with us. I am not quite sure how I feel about being away from Ryan for so long. I have mixed emotions because I'm excited about some time with my hubby but I'm not good at being away from my precious baby boy. I think as long as we stay busy I should be okay but I will be jumping up and down when I see him on the 4th!!!

Sorry for the long update, but there has been so much to share. I'll update after Ryan's big trip because I'm sure we will have stories to share.
