Nighttime Potty Training

Ryan has been potty trained for about a year and a half.  However, I've been very nervous about taking away pull ups at night.  He's such a deep sleeper and I've wondered if he even wakes up when he's peeing.  I finally got the nerves to take away the pull ups last weekend.  I discussed with him that if he needs to go potty he can leave his room, go potty, and go right back to bed.  I figured this would be such a hard adjustment and I would be waking up daily to a huge mess and changing sheets.  But much to my surprise, each night I hear his baby gate open, the toilet flush, and his baby gate close.  He has not had a single accident and it has been 5 nights!!  I am so proud of my little man.  I'm also a little frustrated with myself for not having faith in him sooner because he was obviously ready for this step.  I could've tried this a long time ago!
I know there will be accidents along the way but this certainly is a great start!!  I couldn't be more proud!

On another note, Ryan  has been exceptionally well behaved and well mannered lately.  We have worked with him on using manners and of course being a good listener.  However, he's a toddler so these things don't always happen.  Well, about 2 weeks ago, out of nowhere he began saying "Yes ma'am" and "Yes sir" constantly and saying things like "I'm going to take care of that without being asked" and "let me help you with that Mommy".  These are things he has done hit or miss for awhile now but all of a sudden this is the norm each day.  I LOVE it!!!  Even if we tell him no to something or tell him it's time to clean up he's very agreeable. "Oh, sure thing" or "I don't mind".  WOW!!!  I'm sure this is just a tease and we'll get back to the terrible threes but this has been such a great change of pace!!!!  I'm not saying he hasn't had his moments because he's three and that's going to happen but when 95% of each day is filled with awesome behavior like this, who wouldn't feel spoiled???  Keep it up little man!
I'll keep you all posted as to how long this lasts...place your bets if you want.  Haha!
