Such a sweet boy

I'm sorry for taking so long to update. Things have been hectic lately since graduate school started back up with a jam packed summer session. Every free minute I have I'm working on grad work or enjoying time with family.

Ryan is growing so fast. Jamie went to the Netherlands for 4 days on a business trip. When he came back he was shocked at how big Ryan seemed. He's almost 12 pounds and he's close to being 2 months old! He is still enjoying his play mat and interacting with toys even more. We have even started to see a few grins. I can't wait for him to start grinning more and laughing. Everyday is a new adventure with our little man. I wouldn't want it any other way.

Ryan has been sleeping a little better at night. He sleeps between 4-5 hours before each wake up. When he makes it 5 hours I only have to get up one time with him. When it's less than 5 hours I have to get up twice. We can't wait for him to sleep through the night but it's really not so bad at the moment.

We officially have him on soy formula. The doctors said it's too early to tell if he's lactose intolerant but my motherly instinct tells me otherwise. He is in such pain after eating breast milk or milk based formula. He wails and scrunches up his belly. After starting him on soy, he hasn't shown any signs of discomfort after eating (except for a bit of acid reflux when we lay him flat).

We have started taking him out to more places which has been wonderful for me. I was getting a little stir crazy in the house! He's been to the mall, Target, and a few restaurants. Luckily, he hasn't been fussy in these places so taking him has been very easy. He absolutely loves riding in the car which makes it even easier. He loves the car so much that I have driven him around when he has been extremely fussy and nothing calms him down.

Things have been going really great with our little man and I'll try to do a better job keeping all of you updated on his adventures!
